yesterday had work for my very first time at riverwalk.
i must say that i have learnt many things throughout the entire day.
besides the fun in the games that we played, each of us went home with sth to think abt.
we played a no. of teambuilding games which i really enjoyed! (:
first of all, we played a slient game where we had to rearrange ourselves on the chair according to our names and birthdates.
it was really challenging in the beginning cos we didnt listen carefully to the instructions.
the 2nd time we did it, it was a success and we broke the prev. record!!
then we proceeded on to another game called the aeroplane game. HAHA. ( i kinda made up the name of the game myself)
each team had to come up w an aeroplane dat will be able to hit the target frm a distance.
what i had learnt frm this game was dat we should not give up on our first attempt and try it again.
though we may have failures in our lives, we shld not be discouraged but continue to press on till eventually the blessing of God will just pour dwn upon our lives!
lastly we played a game called the "egg" game whr we had to throw the egg frm a height using the resources we had.
it was really challenging initially and i had doubts in my mind like it may break or it is impossible.
but my team continue to work hard and we decided to add a layer of straw ard the egg.
then cover it with ALOT of scotchtape then add other layers of straws onto it.
finally we used the poncho as a cushion for the egg to give it's support.
and attached it to the ballon and "ta-da!" we had our final product!
we called it the "disfigured popiah balloon!"
when we checked to see if our egg had broken at the end, it didnt!
the feeling dat i felt was so good and i had a sense of achievement in my heart. =)
what i learnt frm this game, is dat the egg represents the youth and dilinquents in society with no sense of purpose or vision in their lives.
therefore the egg is seen as fragile and sensative as well.
the support dat was added on to protect the egg represented us as the city care cadets who will be thr for these ppl to give them the support they nid when they go thro fire, difficulities in their lives.
today was a really LONG day. haha. but quite fruitful.my team did the outline for both YOUTHS and TERMINALLY ILL.basically we are doing research and discussion for these 2 days.tmr we are gonna come up with the final product. we can get ready to work OT leh. hahaa.by 530pm today popiah and radicals went dwnstairs at HANs to work out everything.we had some funny moments too! (:went home with the rest and i had a gd chat w sarah on my way hm. lolx.one thing that i learnt today is dat i shld not be afraid to voice out my ideas/opinions.in order to become a good ldr, i got 2 be bold in what i say and speak with confidence.i do not just want to be a follower but also to be a leader! =)i believe that God has a purpose for placing me in city care.i know dat when i graduate frm CC, i'll become the NEW SINGAPOREAN!!and begin to empower, educate and encourage!
